The Gift of Greatness...

Everybody has greatness in some way, shape, or form... what makes us different is how we internalize this greatness... We can act like we aren't great, and self-loathe until our confidence is nonexistent.... We can take our greatness as though we are one of the only great things on this earth and become overly-confident and arrogant... Or we take our greatness as a gift and be appreciative for it... it does or doesn't have to mean a higher being gave it to us, but what's undeniable is that our greatness can be stripped from us in a split-second.... This fact alone should make us humble and thankful for our gift of greatness and we should savor it and use it to improve our own lives and the lives of others...

The Revolutionary's Mantra (pt. 1)

"I can walk around mad at the world for everything that is wrong, or I can walk around happy that I'm given the opportunity to fix it..."

blindness...

"we tend to allow our emotions to immerse our minds into creating thoughts and ideas that deceive us from the truth..."

true optimism...

life is too short to have a mindset in which one only dwells on the present and hopes for a better future... to truly enjoy the future, one must embrace what is currently around them, and find good, of any kind, within it... then, the future will begin to shine with more promise and clarity...

Changing the World

Lets not worry about how to make the world better. Let us first make ourselves better, and in turn, the world will change...

vibes...

One thing I hear a lot is the word "vibes"...

When I hear the word vibes the first thing that comes to mind is the word impulses, but in regard to other people...

Many of my friends dictate whether or not they pursue friendship and acquaintances on these vibes...

I hear people say "she's giving me bad vibes" or "I'm not vibing him"...

Hearing these things makes my mind giggle because by implication, when somebody says that, they are also saying that they are a mind reader; but, when you ask them if they are mind readers, they look at you like your crazy... trust me... I know

People often find things in others to give themselves a instant reason to dissociate themselves.
This bothers me because this mentality screams hypocrisy...

I personally can say I highly dislike when people choose to dislike me based on their assumptions... Ultimately, it's ignorance... point. blank. period.

This doesn't mean that I'm giving heat to all those who do judge impulsively. It is understandable. BUT, people are often missing out on a great opportunity to meet someone unlike themselves, and possibly widening their horizons of knowledge...

in some cases, the person's vibes may just be all jacked up... who's to know... and this reason alone should tell people that vibes are probably the most unideal thing to base people-to-people interaction on...

At the end of the day, understanding, compassion, and open-mindedness outweigh any vibe and can open the gateway to a myriad of things... If nothing else, look at vibes as a blockade to all the possibilities in life. Forget the vibes, and be yourself; nothing more or less...

aphorism of the day...

"If nobody pushes the envelope, the message will not be delivered"...

pride?...

"Pride and arrogance is like love and hate; the lines are too damn thin..."

conformity... (pt. 1)

Inevitably, one of the greatest challenge of being a human being is finding the perfect balance between coexisting with others while sustaing one's own mentality and character... No matter how much we are in denial of it, it is done by everyone. I guess you can say we are disinclined to demoting and promoting ourselves, respectively, to the level of our friends, acquaintences, peers, and family. It is done in such a miniscule fashion where it would be absurd to analyze the original motive of this behavior or "nature". I guess it's something that's rarely addressed for the synonymous reason it is so often unnoticed. I guess what makes us different is the extremity to which we take this predisposed characteristic, on a multitude of levels. From our demeanor to our lifestyle, everything is impacted one way or another. I believe it's not a matter solely dependent upon what we deal with and what we observe, but moreso the action and changes we take on these experiences...

defintions...

who defines our definitions?..

people consider me cynical when I consider myself a realist...
people consider me ashamed when I consider myself modest...
people consider me weird when I consider myself unique... the ulitimate question of all, I guess, is whether this observation makes me brilliant or crazy?.. which then ties us back to the inital question... think about it ppl. it affects us more than we may think...
